Katy + Jake | Evansville Boho Wedding

Today’s story is about Jake and Katy. I’ve been SO excited to photograph these two since the day they reached out to me! Katy and Jake are two of the most genuine, lovable people you'll ever meet. These two actually connected via Facebook message, although they had a handful of mutual friends. At the time, Jake was actually in another relationship, but a few months later, after that relationship ended, he remembered Katy’s witty message and asked her to dinner! Throughout their relationship, Jake collected videos of their adventures and fun times. He took all of the footage and put together a montage of everything. While on a two-week trip to Peru, after 8 hours of hiking to Machu Picchu, Jake presented the video to Katy and got down on one knee! I forgot to mention that Jake is a videographer, so this was the perfect proposal that truly reflected his creativity. If you want to see the video, check out their engagement session on the blog (it’s at the very end)!

Everything took place at Klubhaus 61 which is a beautiful venue that overlooks the rolling hills and tall grasses at the Parklands.

They first met up at Tin Roof in downtown Indianapolis and danced to Garth Brooks’ “Low Places.” They’ve been inseparable ever since! Mark proposed by bringing Nicole to a “work event” at the Indianapolis Art Museum. The two walked around the museum and stopped in front of a large fountain. It turned out that both of their families were there when Mark got down on one knee and proposed! Some “work event!”
