Emily + Evan | Jasper, IN Wedding

Emily & Evan decided to have an intimate wedding ceremony with their families on their original wedding date of June 13th, 2020 & move their larger celebration to this coming September.

Now, usually I start off with telling the story of the wedding day but I’m going to mix it up this time & tell you guys how these two met because I love it so much. In Emily’s own words, here is the story. Prepare to get all the warm fuzzies!

“Evan and I met through his mother, Mary Sue. One of my first days living in Jasper with my aunt Audrey and Andy, I decided to make homemade granola. Audrey had mentioned that her house cleaner, Mary Sue, generally cleans on Mondays so don't be alarmed if I see her. Sure enough, as I'm finishing up the granola Mary Sue comes into the kitchen. After some small talk, she asked me if I enjoyed the outdoors. I told her I do and that when I was a kid my parents used to call me "nature girl". She looked at me as though she was very pleased with my answer and said something to the effect of “my son loves to eat homemade granola and be outdoors and I should give him your number”. I was excited by the potential friendship and wrote my number down on a sticky note. A few days later Evan texted me and asked me if I wanted to hang out. We met up at Holiday Foods in Ferdinand, IN because I had no idea what a "Bretzville Junction" was. Evan picked me up in his white Jeep with the doors and top off. I thought he was handsome and rugged but a bit rough around the edges, nothing a scissors and a trip to Urban Outfitters couldn't fix. We went to the Ferdinand Fire Tower and talked almost the whole night. We had such chemistry and an instant connection. Little did I know that it was the day I got to meet the love of my life and no longer have to go it alone.”

Ok, now that we’ve all gotten to read that sweet & hilarious story, let’s talk about their wedding day!

The girls started their morning off right with hair, make up & popping a little champagne. Then Emily’s mom helped her into her dress & everything started to feel real! Everyone couldn’t stop telling Emily how gorgeous she looked! She then went outside to meet her dad for a first look & he met her with the biggest smile on his face! Meanwhile, Evan was getting ready at this parents home and, of course, the morning wouldn’t be complete without some photos with their sweet corgi, Louie!

After everyone was ready, it was time to head to St. Joseph’s Church & get these two married! Father Christopher Droste lead a beautiful & heartfelt ceremony. There may have only been a small number of people in the pews but that church was filled with so much love. As Emily & Evan exited the church, they got a big surprise! Their friends & family were standing outside, ready to congratulate them! This was such a sweet & emotional moment.

After we wrapped up family photos, we headed out for some portraits of just the two of them. What I love most about an intimate wedding day is that it never feels rushed. We were able to go off of the beaten path & really spend some time together for these. Then these two wrapped up the day by going to visit the grave sites of Emily’s brothers, Zach & Ben. She placed white roses down & took a moment to spend with them in spirit.

These two seriously have the kindest, most genuine souls. I know that they’ll get their big celebration in September but I also know how special this day was as well & I’m so happy to have been a small part of it!
