There’s something really special about small town weddings. Everyone knows everyone and it just makes it that much more intimate. Natalie and Jason’s wedding day took place on a gorgeous spring day and was full of so many laughs and smiles. These two met when they were in high school in Huntingburg, Indiana (population just over 6,000, in case you were wondering). Jason proposed to Natalie in the Smoky Mountains and the rest is history.

On their big day, the dogwood trees were blooming and spring was finally showing its face with sun and 70 degrees. The Bride, her mother, and her bridesmaids got dressed together at the couple’s new home. Before heading to the church where the ceremony would be held, Natalie read letters written to her from both her father and Jason. Jason’s letter had her laughing and smiling, while the letter from her dad brought tears to her eyes.

The ceremony was held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, the parish where both Natalie and Jason have attended for most of their lives. During the ceremony, the priest, Father Godfrey, mentioned how long he had known the couple and cracked a few jokes. Natalie mentioned to me that she knew when she was in high school that she wanted Father Godfrey to officiate her wedding no matter who she married! During the ceremony, there were lots of laughs from couple and congregation alike and the entire wedding felt so light and happy.

The reception was held at Venue 1408 in Huntingburg and was full of just-married bliss. We ended the day with some sunset photos and dancing the night away!

I’ll leave you with one last sweet detail. When asked what they want to remember about this season of their lives 20 years from now, they said “their budding love for each other”. Seems like the perfect response because of the gorgeous blooming dogwood trees on their wedding day. Coincidence? I think not.
