MecKenzie + Tyler | New Harmony, IN Wedding
MecKenzie & Tyler’s wedding was my last one of 2018 and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to wrap up my season!
These two met in college while attending Murray State & Tyler proposed to MecKenzie on campus under the famous "shoe tree". It is tradition for couples who meet on campus to hang their shoes on the tree. Doing so is said to provide a lifetime of good luck & some couples even return to put a baby shoe on the tree when they've started their family. If that isn't the sweetest college tradition, I don't know what is!
Pre-ceremony. The morning started at The Orchard House in New Harmony, IN. The giant sunroom in the back of the house was the perfect getting ready space for MecKenzie & her bridesmaids! All of the ladies were laughing & having so much fun getting ready for the day. Once make-up was wrapped up, MecKenzie headed over to the church to put on her wedding dress. Her mom & best friend, Kendal, helped her & it was such an emotional moment.
Ceremony. MecKenzie & Tyler's ceremony took place at beautiful First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, IN where her grandparents were also married. Check out their photos below to compare!
One of my favorite parts was when MecKenzie’s grandfather sang The Lord’s Prayer. It was so special & the perfect way to end the ceremony before their first kiss as husband and wife.
Reception. Once we arrived back in New Harmony, the sun was already setting but this group hustled & we still got to take lots of portraits before they made their very impressive reception entrances. That evening The New Harmony Inn was filled to the brim with so much love & laughter!
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Upton! You two are so sweet & I absolutely loved getting to document this amazing day for you!
