Courtney + Jake | Sanctuary on Penn, Indianapolis Wedding

These photos feature another couple that met way back in high school! Although they knew each other during that time, they didn’t actually start dating until the summer after Jake graduated. They soon became a long-distance couple after he went off to college. I think these types of stories give us all a little more hope for long-distance love!

5 years later, on a spur-of-the-moment trip to New York City, Jake pulled a ring box from Courtney’s own purse and got down on one knee. She had no idea how he managed to pull this off, but the rest is history!

Moving forward to the wedding! Everything took place at The Sanctuary on Penn in Indianapolis, Indiana. While getting ready, they each read letters written by the other. They both had the biggest smiles on their faces! It was a really special and emotional moment. After they were finished getting ready, they did a “first look” before the ceremony began. Courtney was just glowing with joy. I couldn’t get these two to stop laughing! It was so obvious that this was one of the happiest moments they had shared together (at least until the ceremony).

The wedding ceremony itself was short and very personal with family and close friends. Courtney’s sisters were the maids of honor and Jake’s youngest sister was the flower girl. I was also thrilled that they included their dog, Milo, in their wedding (he also made an appearance in their engagement photos)! He was walked down the aisle by Jake’s other two sisters. I also have to point out Milo was sporting a very dapper tuxedo!

We went straight from the ceremony to the reception. Everyone had a blast and the dance floor was full all night long. I also had to include a photo of Jake’s grandparents. I’ve literally never seen such a fun group! Courtney and Jake ended their wedding day with a sparkler exit. It was the best ending to a perfect day!

Per usual, I have to include some cute details to wrap things up. When asked what each loves most about the other, Courtney said “He is the person I can go to for anything. He works really hard for our future and goes to ridiculous lengths to make my bad days better, and my best days even better as well!”. When asked the same question, Jake said “She is my best friend. I look forward to anything and everything with her. She constantly sees the best in me and pushes me to be better each and every day. She is the most incredible person I know. I love her so much.”

When asked what they want to remember about this season of life 20 years from now, they said, “We want to remember the celebration of our love! We should be able to look back at that time and know that since then, we’ve been able to love each other a little bit more every day.”
