Bailee and Joe got married on the beach in Destin, Florida, but are from my neck of the woods. Bailee was actually a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed last year & I’m so thankful that our paths crossed when they did!

These two met back in high school when Joe got ahold of Bailee’s Snapchat and followed her on Twitter. Millennial relationships are the best, right? After a few years of dating, Joe got down on one knee at his family holiday gathering. Obviously, Bailee said “yes!”

Before I tell you about their wedding, I have to share their hashtag - #BaileesCupOfJoe. So adorable! 

On the day of the ceremony, Bailee and her bridesmaids got ready together in a house they rented. Once they were ready, Bailee headed down to the beach to take photos and do a first look with Joe. They were so excited to see each other! After photos of the wedding party and family, we went straight into the ceremony. Bailee and Joe did a unity sand pouring. They each poured two different types of sand into a glass bottle which symbolizes the two families becoming one. I loved this beachy take on a unity ritual! 

For the “reception,” everyone went back to the same house where Bailee got ready and spent the rest of the evening hanging out together. It was casual and perfect! This wedding was the perfect example of how a small and intimate wedding is just as special as a huge and lavish event and I loved every minute of it. Not only are Bailee & Joe amazing but they also have some awesome families. I felt so loved & appreciated by all of them!

Of course I have to wrap up this story with some sweetness. When asked what each loved most about each other, Bailee said that “He is calm and steady and doesn’t get worked up about small things. He brings me back down to earth.” When asked the same about Bailee, Joe said “Her laugh and smile. She has the best laugh in the world and is always ready to joke around with me.” When asked what they want to remember about this season of life 20 years from now, they said “Not getting caught up in the ways of this world and truly creating a celebration for us. We want to remember everything we’ve experienced as a couple and how all of the waiting was worth it.”
