Andi + Luke | Jasper, IN Wedding

Andi and Luke met at Purdue University while studying in the graphic design program. I have to say that creative people are honestly the best because they always consider every small detail in everything they do. You’re going to notice this as I tell you about these two and their wedding!

Luke proposed at Canyonlands National Park in Utah (where they were both living at the time) during a weekend of camping and hiking. They found a beautiful viewpoint and Luke told Andi to turn around while he took a panoramic view of her against the horizon. When she turned back around, he was down on one knee. According to Andi, it was a complete surprise and was absolutely perfect!

Before telling you all about their wedding ceremony, I’m going to point out some really thoughtful details (remember my previous comment about creatives and their details!). First, Luke’s tie was actually a topographic map of Canyonlands National Park. In the photo below, you can see the tie and their rings which are surrounding the exact location where Luke proposed. Another really cool touch was that the couple gave water bottles as gifts to their wedding guests. On the bottle was a tree that Andi designed to match the tree that she and Luke planted during their ceremony, which I’ll tell you about next!

Andi and Luke got married in Jasper, Indiana, where Andi is from. They both described themselves as very 'no fuss' when it came to planning their wedding and really just wanted to have a fun, laid back day with their loved ones, which they absolutely accomplished. Everything took place at Klubhaus 61 which is a beautiful venue that overlooks the rolling hills and tall grasses at the Parklands.

They had a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony, officiated by their friend, Shawn. Prior to the wedding, Shawn had asked Andi and Luke to write down 10 promises to each other. In their lists they both mentioned watching The Office together. Luke is a huge fan of the show and Shawn actually gave him a stapler and jello as a gift during the ceremony (Google this if you aren’t aware of this prank)! As someone who has seen literally every episode of The Office at least twice, I totally loved this! The following reception was calm and ‘no fuss,’ just like they wanted, yet still beautiful and special.

I loved all of the thoughtful, personal touches from Andi and Luke’s wedding day. They made the entire day so unique and special to them.

As always, I have to share a few answers to the questions I ask all of the couples I photograph. When asked what she loves most about Luke, Andi said, “He is the most selfless, thoughtful person I’ve ever met. He’s kind and he has a huge heart. He has an amazing sense of humor and I’m always laughing at something he’s said or done. Oh, and he does a lot of the household chores!” Sounds like a keeper to me! When asked the same question about Andi, Luke said, “I love her boldness, her never-ending ability to cheer me up, and how she’s brought true joy into my life. She’s always by my side.” When asked what they want to remember about this season of their lives 20 years from now, they said, “All of our adventures!”
